April Sales in the Chiswick Property Market

Market appears to have fallen from earlier peaks

After a record breaking first quarter for prices in the Chiswick market more recent numbers suggest that the property market's advance has slowed at least temporarily.

The numbers from the Land Registry for April show the average price in Chiswick to be £437,723 down 6.5% from the average price seen during the first quarter. However, early indications are that subsequent months may be stronger.

The market saw a precipitous rise between January and March but much of the strength in prices seems to be down to higher levels of activity at the very top end. A property in Grove Park was sold during the quarter for the eighth highest ever price seen in Chiswick.

Some of the more successful agents are seeing a high number of instructions through their offices but in general there appears to be a shortage of property available with some buyers finding it very difficult to meet their requirements in the area.
