October 1, 2023
The Arts Society Chiswick will be welcoming Tyler Butterworth for its October lecture at 8:00pm on Thursday, 12 October 2023 at POSK.
He will reveal the remarkable private story behind the public lives of his parents’ Carry On actor Peter Butterworth and his wife, Janet Brown, Britain’s first female television impressionist, best known for her impression of Mrs Thatcher.
Using classic film and tv clips, personal mementos, and rare photographs and letters from his family’s unseen collection, Tyler Butterworth will take us on a journey that includes: MI9; the building of a theatre in the notorious WW2 Prisoner of War camp Stalag Luft III; nights at Chequers with a Prime Minister; This Is Your Life and many more moments in their long, shared life in the theatre.
Having been born into a theatrical family, the actor and producer has worked in film, television and theatre. He now concentrates on voice work including recording audiobooks, documentaries and voiceovers and produces walking audio guides to cities across Europe for private clients.
Olivia Freeman, Chair, The Arts Society Chiswick said, “We are delighted to welcome Tyler Butterworth for this revealing lecture about his parents’ lives. The Arts Society Chiswick look forward to welcoming both members and guests,“.
Doors open at 7pm, as does the private bar. The Lecture will start at 8pm and guests are very welcome for a payment of £10 on the door.
