QPR Match Postponed

Saturday's fixture called-off due to weather

This weekend's football match at Loftus Road had to be postponed due to the snow.

Queen's Park Rangers were due to play Plymouth Argyle in a Coca Cola Championship fixture on Saturday (January 9). Because the Loftus Road stadium has undersoil heating, it had been hoped that the match would go ahead despite the freezing weather.

But a statement on the Club's website said: "The safety of the supporters is of paramount importance to the Club and following an inspection of the surrounding areas by the Club, local authorities and police on Friday morning, a decision was taken to postpone the fixture.

"The Club can confirm that all tickets for this match will be valid for the re-arranged fixture date which will be announced in due course."

According to the Evening Standard, at least 27 football matches in the capital, which had been scheduled for the weekend, had to be cancelled, along with all but two rugby premiership games.
