Live music is to be brought to shoppers in Ealing by the team behind the annual Hanwell Hootie.

They have teamed up with the Ealing Broadway Shopping centre to hold live music events at which local musicians will be able to busk in a public area and showcase their talents.

Every Sunday from 29 July until 3 September from 11am to 4pm, buskers will be provided with a full PA set up, a state and support from the Hootie team and centre staff.

The Hanwell Hootie took a break this year after 2022’s 10-year anniversary extravaganza, but its team is as active as ever in the community.

June Martin, of The Hanwell Hootie Music Festival CIC, said, “We are again collaborating with Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre to give artists an opportunity to perform in its town square. There will be an interesting mix of young and emerging talent, established performances and community groups entertaining the crowd from 29 July until 3 September.

“Each Sunday, buskers will have an opportunity to perform and the sessions are open to everyone. We encourage and support those who are in the early stages of their career or would just like the opportunity to showcase their talent.”

If you want to get involved send an email with the subject ‘Ealing Busking’ to ealing@hanwellhootie.co.uk.

The Sunday sessions will be part of a feast of live music at Ealing Broadway in the Town with live music from solo artists, bands and community groups also taking place on Saturdays from 12pm to 5pm. It is also planned to open up the stage Wednesday to Friday so more local talent can get an opportunity to perform. This will include word performers, musicians, dancers or choirs.

The music will be free for all but for anyone wishing to make a donation there will be a contactless Giving Box raising money for the Young Ealing Foundation and the Ealing Foodbank.
