Since we started this police petition, we have not seen as many people interested in a local topic for a long time. People in Chiswick and the neighbouring area want to see their local police station kept open - permanently.

It was great to see Caroline Pidgeon, the Liberal Democrat Great London Assembly Member handing in the petition to the Mayor of London at City Hall recently as the number of signatures goes past 1200.

We now await the Mayor of London to listen to the residents and stop his plans to close police stations when they are needed as a vital link between the police and residents in the fight against crime.

We need your help to get as many signatures as possible so we can speak to the Mayor of London. The more signatures, the more pressure can be placed upon the Mayor of London.

A significant portion of residents still do not have access to the internet and so Liberal Democrats will campaign to always ensure we offer a service to those residents who make up about 10% of the population in our area.

The Liberal Democrats believe this autumn should only be the start of the permanent reopening of Chiswick police station.
