Chiswick based charity seeks new members

Chiswick-based charity The MicroLoan Foundation, which makes small loans to help desperately poor people set up small businesses and work their own way out of the poverty trap, is launching a major campaign to recruit more volunteers.

The charity currently works in Malawi but plans to expand into four more countries in sub-Saharan Africa within the next ten years. Run principally by volunteers, the key to its successful expansion will be getting more people involved.

A Volunteers Evening will be held in the Isis Rooms at St. Paul’s Church in Grove Park, Chiswick on 19th October starting at 8.30 p.m.

People of all ages and from all walks of life are involved with the charity and just about any skills can be put to good use! But at this time they are particularly keen to recruit more support on the financial control/ financial management and events side, so accountants/people with accounting experience, and events organisers will be especially welcome.

There is an exciting sporting challenge on the agenda for 2006, and someone to organise it is urgently required!

Why not go along to find out more, meet other volunteers and the executive team and to see how your skills might be put to good effect for this excellent cause. Refreshments will be provided.
