Motorcyclist Rushed to Hospital After Collision Near Porsche Garage

The westbound A4 was closed between Hogarth Roundabout and Chiswick Roundabout for more than four hours on Thursday (6 August )after a serious road traffic collision. The incident happened near Sutton Lane North, opposite the Porsche garage, where a motorcyclist was struck by another vehicle and left needing urgent medical attention.
Emergency services were called at 4.03pm. According to the London Ambulance Service, ambulance crews and a paramedic in a fast response car treated the rider at the scene before taking him to a local hospital as a priority. Based on the fact he wasn’t taken to a major trauma centre, it is believed the injuries, while significant, were not life‑changing.
The A4 was shut to allow crash scene investigators to work safely, causing severe disruption across west London during the evening rush hour. Traffic problems were made worse by the ongoing northbound closure of Sutton Court Road for Cadent gas works, which meant vehicles could no longer turn left at the junction with the A4, effectively blocking the route.
The road began reopening shortly before 8pm, but congestion continued for some time afterwards as traffic cleared and diversions were lifted.
Police enquiries into the collision remain ongoing.
