Bogus Water Board man strikes in Brent Lea

Cash stolen by tricksters from 80 year old man

Police are investigating the theft of cash from the home of an 80 year old man at Brent Lea.

The incident occured on May 15th at 5.20pm. The victim answered the door to a male who said he was from the Water Board. The man was admitted. The victim was distracted in the kitchen but realised another man had subsequently entered the flat and was going through his coat pockets. He shouted out and both men ran out of the front door. It was later discovered that some cash had been taken.

The first suspect was about 20-25 years, wearing a white T shirt, the second was about 40 years, wearing a black T shirt and black trousers, Irish accent, teeth missing from the front. It’s believed a third male was involved, aged 20-25 years, wearing a black T shirt and black trousers. All were white males.

Another distraction burglary took place on Thursday 4th May 2006 at noon in London Road, Isleworth. The victim was an 80 year old lady. She was in the house with her son when a caller was admitted after claiming he was a police officer investigating a burglary nearby. He produced some kind of ID and the victim started discussing her security arrangements. It transpires that this man wasn’t a police officer although fortunately nothing was stolen.

The suspect was described as a white male, about 35 years, 5’08”, wearing a smart blue suit, white shirt, dark tie. He had short dark brown hair.
