Parkview Centre for Health and Wellbeing Opens its Doors
Four GP practices move in to new building in White City
The £30 million centre, next to Wormholt Park brings together four GP practices relocating from the local White City area;a range of community services including retinal and diabetes services; chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)and heart services; community dental services; Cheyne child development service, speech and language therapy; LBHF adult social workers, LBHF learning disability services and health and wellbeing.

Dr Ravi Kukar says: "At the new centre we can care for patients in a modern environment and offer the best possible GP services. We’re serving the population of White City,
Wormholt and the people who live, work and attend school in the surrounding areas.
" I have no doubt the local community will benefit from all the services on offer and as GPs we can offer integrated care under one roof which reduces waiting times for appointments and takes patients away from A&E and outpatient services."

The official opening will take place later in the year.
Dr Tim Spicer, Chair of Hammersmith and Fulham CCG says: " We are really proud of this building and the partnership working with Hammersmith and Fulham Council and our NHS partners that it symbolises.
" Patients will be able to visit the Parkview Centre and receive a range of health, social care and wellbeing services, all working together under one roof to ensure a smoother healthcare journey. Patients with long term conditions such as diabetes will have improved management of their health conditions, giving them a better quality of life and avoiding unnecessary hospital visits or admissions."
The CCG says it has worked closely with Hammersmith and Fulham Council to create this flagship health and wellbeing centre which has been designed to be accessible with vibrant colours, large glass windows, modern furniture and open spaces.
The council's social services staff are joining health care professionals at the new centre. The intention is for this to lead to greater joined up services, particularly for those living with complex and chronic health conditions.
However, the new Labour administration at H & F Council has warned the NHS that improvements in primary care are no replacement for hospital services, and it will take time for community services to lead to a change in the use of hospitals.
Cllr. Vivienne Lukey, cabinet member for Health and Adult Social Care at Hammersmith & Fulham Council says: " We welcome the opening of the centre in White City given the improvements that it can bring to the health of local residents. The White City area has been calling out for such a facility for many years, and we are pleased it has now arrived.
"However, it is no replacement for the acute services provided by local hospitals. The centre will not be equipped to deal with many of the accidents and emergencies experienced by residents who currently use Hammersmith and Charing Cross A&Es. That is why we are intent on doing everything possible to prevent hospital downgrades.
"Closing A&E services at a time when demand in the borough for emergency care is increasing is a gamble with people's lives that we are not prepared to see happen."
