Man "probably in 20s" hit by train from Willesden Junction

British Transport Police have confirmed that a man was killed yesterday, October 12 after being hit by a train at Shepherd's Bush overground station

A spokesperson says: " BTP were called to Shepherd’s Bush rail station on Wednesday, October 12 after a report of a man being struck by a train.

" Officers attended the incident, which was reported at 3.10pm, alongside the Metropolitan Police.

" Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service also attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

" Officers are currently working to establish the man’s identity and inform his next of kin.

" The incident is currently being treated as non-suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

The train involved was the 15:01 Willesden Junction to Clapham Junction service. Services were suspended between Willesden Junction and Clapham Junction but resumed later in the aftenooon.

Three ambulances and an air ambulance were in attendance at the station. Witnesses reported on Twitter watching the scene in horror.  Mr Boez tweeted: " Saw someone kill himself earlier in Shepherd's Bush. The place was crazy. About a dozen police cars and vans, a helicopter, three ambulances and a load of medical cars outside.

"I don't know the exact details. But I could see (excuse me) his legs from under the train. People were quickly evacuated and the area was off bounds. Obviously, my thoughts are with the family/relatives of the man involved."
