New station opens in the south of the borough
W12 residents will be able to get from Shepherd's Bush to Fulham in less than 10 minutes, thanks to the opening of a new railway station.
Imperial Wharf station, which is between Clapham Junction and West Brompton on the West London Line, opened for the first time on Sunday (27 September).
The new station, which is fully accessible, means passengers travelling from W12 will be able to get to Fulham in seven minutes by train, compared to around one hour on the 295 bus.
Three trains will run in each direction every hour, along the line which runs from Willesden Junction to Clapham Junction.
Imperial Wharf station is located in the Sands End part of Fulham and is adjacent to Chelsea Harbour.
It is the first time since the Second World War that the north and the south of the borough are connected by Overground rail.
The station will be formally opened by London Mayor Boris Johnson on Tuesday, September 29.
