QPR Fans Defy Freezing Weather to Finish Tiger Feet 9

Ten mile walk on Saturday raises thousands for club's Down's Syndrome team

QPR's CEO Lee Hoos and his wife Tina joined an army of QPR supporters defying the freezing weather on Saturday, 17 March to join in the ten mile TigerFeet 9 walk.

The walk - this year from Loftus Road to Fulham F.C.'s Craven Cottage, via a detour through Barnes - is an annual event undertaken by QPR fans, staff and members of the Tiger Cubs team to raise money for the QPR Tiger Cubs - a team for adults, young people and children with Down's Syndrome.

Through football, the QPR Tiger Cubs project aims to create a multi-tier learning environment that will improve the participants' overall physical, social and emotional health, with participants getting the same benefits of being on a team as their able-bodied peers.

Tiger Feet 9 followed previous walks to clubs such as Crystal Palace, Charlton, West Ham, Arsenal and Watford and last year the walkers raised over £14,000 by completing a 13 miles hike from the club's training ground in Harlington in Middlesex.

After the walkers had made it to Craven Cottage in time to see a great game between QPR and Fulham result in a two all draw, QPR tweeted @QPRFC:"Congratulations to all the #QPR fans who took part in #TigerFeet9 on Saturday. We hope you've warmed up by now!"

And club chairman Tony Fernandes added @tonyfernandes: "Thanks to all who taking part in #TigerFeet9 . You are the best."

The money raised from the walk goes directly to the team to
cover their expenses; assist with future projects; and further extending new opportunities for the project.
