Brentford FC players visiting the Rose Community Centre
December 12, 2024
Despite extreme weather conditions last Saturday (7 December) six volunteers turned out to collect donations at the Gtech Community Stadium during Storm Darragh.
As part of the close relationship between Brentford FC and Hounslow Community Foodbox, they were raising funds for the local charity.
The Bees fans were clearly in a good mood, particularly after a home win of 4-2 over Newcastle United and £850 was donated plus gifts of food and essential supplies which were very welcome time of year when resources are stretched.
On Wednesday 11 December the charity welcomed four Brentford players to the Rose Community Centre where FoodBox is headquartered. They came to learn more about what the volunteers do to support those in need and to raise awareness amongst the community at a time when the FoodBox experiences a real rise in demand.
Yehor Yarmoliuk, Ryan Trevitt, Ji-Soo Kim and Matt Cox also brought further generous donations from the Club. The FoodBox says that it highly values this long-standing partnership with Brentford FC and is grateful for its continuing support.
