A seventeen-year-old boy has died after being involved in a car crash in Park Royal early this Monday morning (7 October).

The police say they were in pursuit of a vehicle on Park Royal Road when it was in a collision near to the entrance to Central Middlesex Hospital at 5:25am.

London Ambulance Service was called who sent paramedics in fast response cars, members of its Tactical Response Unit and a London’s Air Ambulance helicopter. The first of the crews was on the scene within three minutes.

There were three males in the car, including the deceased, who were all taken to hospital after being treated at the scene. One of them is in a critical condition whereas the third is not believed to have been seriously injured.

A Met Police spokesperson has said that a referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct which will look into the circumstances leading up to the crash. The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards has also been informed.

A large cordon was initially set up around the scene of the collision and buses stopping at the hospital were diverted but are now operating as normal.
