Saddle up for bike week!

Hounslow Road Safety Team encouraging people to cycle

Bike Week (17-25 June) is the UK's annual 'celebration of cycling' and Hounslow Road Safety Team is using the week to encourage people to get on their bike.

The "Hounslow Family Cycle Ride" will be taking place on Saturday 24 June, and will set off from the Brent Lea Recreation Ground in Syon Park at 12:30. Interested participants should arrive at around 12 o'clock.

It is a two-hour ride and begins at 12:30 and the route will take in Syon and Osterley Parks, as well as a mile long section of Brentford Canal.

Young people wanting to take part must be accompanied by, or have written permission from, a parent or carer. The event will be suitable for children who have completed cycle training, and is good preparation for those who want to leave the car behind and cycle to secondary school.

Entry to the event is free and complimentary refreshments will be available on the day (on a first come first served basis!). Dr Bike will be on hand to offer advice on maintenance and to make small repairs to ensure bikes are safe.

More details on the event can be obtained from the Hounslow School Travel Advisor on 020 8583 5037 or email STA@hounslow.gov.uk
