Repairs to Pipe Under Goldhawk Road Set to Continue Throughout this Week

Thames Water says that work repairing a burst pipe under Goldhawk Road is set to continue through this week.
The latest update from the company, issued today, 5 February says: "Our work to fix the burst pipe will carry on throughout this week. Although the road remains closed to traffic we’ve opened up access for pedestrians and we’ll continue to do all we can to have everything back to normal as soon as we possibly can.
"We’re really sorry for the disruption the burst pipes have caused in the last week. In each of the areas we’ve got teams working hard to get them fixed and fully support any affected customers.
"Getting everything back to normal is our top priority and then we’ll investigate the causes of the bursts to help reduce the risk of further problems.
"Further updates will be available on our social media feeds."
The company said last week that water supplies had been restored to all areas, following the mains burst on Goldhawk Road which caused major flooding and left thousands without water.
However, it added: "The burst was on one of our large 30-inch in diameter water pipes under Goldhawk Road, and repairs are now set to begin. This work will run into next week as, once the pipe is fixed, there will be a significant amount of work needed to restore the road and surrounding area to normal. We promise to get the road open as soon as we can."

The mains burst was the second in the area within days, following a burst in Hammersmith last Friday that caused major flooding in King Street. It too is still closed between Studland Street and Goldhawk Road for emergency repair work.
