A new Indian restaurant is scheduled to open on Lower Richmond Road in Putney this autumn. The venue, named Raaz, will occupy the former premises of Hudsons and marks the first solo venture by chef Imran Mansuri, whose previous roles include executive chef at Kolamba in Soho and senior positions at Jamavar and Benares.

Raaz will offer a menu described as contemporary Indian cuisine, featuring dishes such as Cornish lamb chops with kadai mushrooms and quail egg, wild garlic chicken chop with charred broccoli, and Malabar fish curry made with wild seabass. Ingredients are expected to be sourced seasonally from farms in Essex.

The drinks list will include cocktails with Indian-inspired flavours—such as turmeric gin and tonic and jalapeño-guava margarita—as well as a selection of wines intended to pair with the food.

Mansuri trained at Tamarind, a Michelin-starred restaurant and worked with the opening team at Jamavar, which also received Michelin recognition. The new restaurant aims to present Indian cooking in a neighbourhood setting, drawing on Mansuri’s experience in London’s fine dining sector.

Hei said: “At Raaz, we invite guests to explore India’s rich culinary roots through a modern lens, refined, balanced, and bright. Our goal is to deliver the kind of elevated, nuanced food you’d expect in Mayfair or Soho, right here in Putney.”

Raaz, which means secret in Hindi, is expected to open later this year.
