St. Peter's Square house goes for over £3 million
The latest information from the Land Registry is showing that Hammersmith property has still been reaching high prices during May.
30 properties have been reported as being sold so far in Hammersmith W6 during May at an average price of £677,288. This back up to the levels seen inr the final quarter of 2010.
There were three houses sold for over £1,000,000 during the month including one for over £2,000,000 - in Hammersmith Grove - and one for over £3,000,000 in St. Peter's Square. Without the St. Peter's Square sale the average price for the month drops below £600,000.
The May data from Land Registry's House Price Index shows an annual price
decrease of 2.2% which takes the average property value in England and Wales to
£161,823. The monthly change from April to May is a decrease of 0.4%.
The only region in England and Wales to experience an increase in its average property value over the last 12 months is London with a movement of 2.9 per cent.
The most up-to-date figures available show that during March 2011, the number of completed house sales in England and Wales decreased by -13 per cent to 44,803 from 51,399 in March 2010. The number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1 million increased by 58 per cent between March 2010 and March 2011, from 511 to 805.

The numbers below are subject to revision as is it usual that some properties are added late to the Land Registry's database.
