Hammersmith Property Sales - March 2011
Increased activity at the top end of local home market
The latest information from the Land Registry has shown that activity in the local property market is increasing again.
40 properties have been reported as being sold so far in Hammersmith W6 during March at an average price of £591,103. This is slightly below the average for the final quarter of 2010 which was over £600,000.
Activity seems to be returning to the top end of the market. After only one million pound plus house was sold in February there were five sales in that price bracket for March included a home in Luxemburg Gardens that went for £2,250,000.
House prices in London are now the only in the country that have risen compared with the same period last year. The Land Registry's House Price Index shows that the average price in the capital was £336,828 in March 2011 up by 0.8% compared to the same month last year.
For England and Wales the average price is now £160,996 down by 2.3% from March 2010. Prices in the north east have fallen by 9.3% and in Wales they are down by 7.2%.

The numbers below are subject to revision as is it usual that some properties are added late to the Land Registry's database.
