Thieves Steal TV from 92 Year Old Lady

Pair posed as water board officials on Bolingbroke Road

Thieves tricked their way into the home of an elderly lady and stole her television set after claiming to be water officials.

The theft occurred on 24th February at 12.15pm on Bolingbroke Road, W14.

The 92 year old woman, who lives alone on a ground floor flat, heard the buzzer go for the communal entrance to her block. She ignored this but then heard a loud bang on the communal entrance door. She looked out of the window to see who it was but they were out of sight. When she opened the door there were two men claiming to be from the water board and that they needed access to her property.

She took them into her flat and they asked her to empty the cupboard under her sink so they could inspect the pipework. Whilst she was doing this they went into her front room and stole her flat screen TV and then fled.

The lady was able to give very good descriptions so please forward details of this appeal to any one you know living in the area. The first man was a white male around 5ft 9in tall, slim build, short blond hair, around 23 years old and clean shaven. He was wearing a black jacket with a beige stripe running up both arms and along the back, dark blue tracksuit bottoms and the latest Nike Air trainers (burgundy and grey in colour).

The second man was around 5ft 6 in tall and wore a black puffer jacket.

The stolen machine was a Sharp Aquos 20inch LCD TV worth around £300.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or recognises the suspects is asked to contact the officer in charge of the case, TDC Kaur at Hammersmith CID or call the Crime management unit at Fulham Police Station on 0208 246 2814.
