Police seek witnesses after victim threatened at knife point
The attempted kidnap of a college student during rush hour has been thwarted by a passer by. Around 8.30am on Tuesday 27th February 2007, the young female victim was walking to Hammersmith and West London College along Colet Gardens when a parked vehicle door suddenly opened.
The suspect grabbed her by her left wrist and said to her "get in the car" whilst holding a knife against her breasts. The victim tried to pull the knife away and in doing caused a cut to the palm of her right hand.
When she saw that her hand was bleeding she screamed, and a female passer by came over to see what was happening which prompted the suspect to drive off. The victim could not give any details of this woman other than she was a black and aged about 35.
The victim was also not able to remember the make of the suspect's vehicle or registration mark except that it was blue. However, she was able to describe the suspect as being an Asian male aged around 20 years old, wearing a grey hooded tracksuit and with a goatee style black beard.
The knife involved was approximately 6 inches in total with a 3-inch blade.
