Ealing Broadway shopping centre has launched a competition to appoint its first-ever Chief Fun Officer—a temporary role aimed at engaging children in evaluating the centre’s family-friendly offerings.

Open to children aged six to twelve, the initiative invites one successful applicant to spend a day at the centre testing a range of activities and experiences. These include bowling and arcade games at Gutterball Ealing, pancake tasting at Fuwa Fuwa, chocolate sampling at Leonidas, browsing books at Waterstones, potting a plant at Greenka, and dining with family at Comptoir Libanais. The child will also receive a new outfit from Primark as part of the experience.

In return, the chosen participant will be asked to provide feedback on what makes an enjoyable family day out. The aim is to gather insights from younger visitors to help inform future improvements to the centre’s leisure and retail offer.

Applications are open until 11:59pm on Tuesday 7 October. To apply, parents or guardians must email ealingbroadwaycfo@citypress.co.uk with the child’s name, age, and a short explanation of why they would be a suitable candidate.

The competition follows recent additions to the centre’s entertainment options, including the launch of Gutterball, which combines bowling, karaoke, darts, and arcade games under one roof.

Centre director Andrew Rollings said the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the visitor experience and ensure the centre remains responsive to the needs of local families.
