Fully Charged to Close Chiswick High Road Store
e-bike retailer says it plans to return to the area next year
Fully Charged's Chiswick store hasn't been open during the week

Fully Charged, the premium e-bike retailer that moved into Chiswick just a few months ago, has confirmed that it intends to close.
The company took over the former Sofa Workshop premises at number 147 as recently as this May with some fanfare.
However, recently the store has been closed most days, it was not longer listed on the company’s web site and an estate agent’s board appeared above the premises advertising the lease.
Shortly after we contacted the company to confirm the status of the store, it issued a statement announcing it was to close although for the time-being it will remain open at weekends.
One local commercial estate agent said, “I wasn’t involved in the letting but it looks like a kind of ‘suck-it-and-see’ type of arrangement with a low initial rent which in retrospect you can describe as a pop-up. That may allow them to remain until vacant possession is required for a new tenant which could take some time.”
The unit which has a 61 foot frontage onto the High Road is being advertised for £150,000 per annum. The agent handling the lease says the highly prominent position could have scope for external seating which suggests they are open to enquiries from bars or restaurants.
The branch was the company’s fourth outlet and sells electric powered bikes including mountain bikes, folding bikes and cargo bikes with prices ranging from £2,000 to £8,000. It claims to be the UK's largest premium e-Bike retailer.
The company issued a statement on its web site saying, “After careful consideration and evaluation of our operations, we have decided to close our popup in Chiswick to refocus our efforts on our flagship store in London Bridge. We firmly believe it will allow us to enhance our services and provide you with an even better customer experience going forward.
“Fully Charged Chiswick will continue to be open on Saturday and Sundays for the coming months as we look to consolidate our efforts back towards London Bridge, our growing eCommerce website and our B2B proposition.”
The company says that in the future it plans to establish a larger, permanent servicing facility in the Chiswick or Brentford area next year.
