The front window of the former Sofa Workshop store on Chiswick High Road is announcing the imminent arrival of premium eBike retailer Fully Charged.

According to the display the new shop is set to open on 1 May to become the company’s fourth outlet.

Set up in 2014 as a pop up near Old Street Station, the chain sells electric powered bikes including mountain bikes, folding bikes and cargo bikes with prices ranging from £2,000 to £8,000. It now claims to be the UK's largest premium eBike retailer.

Its existing stores offer technical support as well as demonstrations of the eBikes on offer.

Fully Charged claims to have the UK’s largest eBike Service Centre located in a 10,000 sq/ft space in the arches under London Bridge station.

It looks poised to move into the large unit which was vacated by the furniture retailer just over a year ago. The shop is directly opposite Fudges Cycles but its existing outlets do not appear to sell pedal power only bikes.

The eBikes sold will be restricted to not offer additional power once a speed of 15.5mph has been reached. They can legally go faster than 15.5mph but any acceleration beyond that point has to be achieved by pedal power.

Some residents have expressed concerns about the speed of eBikes travelling along Cycleway 9 in Chiswick High Road particularly those ridden by delivery riders. However, there has been no serious injury reported due to a collision involving one of these bikes.

An ad posted in the window is offering £40,000 OTE for a full-time sales role in the shop. You need at least a year’s experience of eBike sales to apply but you will be selling to ‘interesting High Net Worth and High Profile clients daily’.
