His Chiswick Brasserie and Bar is offering special 5:2 menu for dieters
New Year dieting and detox residents of Chiswick have somewhere to go for lunch on their dreaded 'fast' days. Sam Harrison of Sam's Brasserie and Bar has come up with an ultra low-calorie menu for anyone doing the popular 5:2 diet.
The diet which has taken the world by storm combines eating a 'normal' menu for most of the week with a rigidly controlled menu for two days. It is often referred to as "intermittent fasting" and has been credited with health benefits ranging from lowered cholesterol and blood pressure, to improving problems with insulin for diabetics.
"It is amazing what yummy dishes we can offer," Sam says; "It all comes down to strong flavours."
He believes his restaurant is the first in London to offer the 5:2 diet menu. Dishes include;
Watermelon & Feta Salad (134 calories)
Thai Style Fish Kebabs (230 calories)
Chicken Satay (117 calories)
Butternut Squash & Ricotta Frittata, Watercress & Mixed Seed Salad (298 calories)
Steamed Mussels, Tomato Broth (208 calories)
Lo-Lo Pork Meatballs, Cavolo Nero (264 calories)
Baked Honey Apricots, Greek Yoghurt (161 calories)
Passion Fruit & Mango Panna Cotta (144 calories)
Spiced Berry Compote, Fromage Frais (75 calories)
The menu is available as an express lunch or earlybird dinner.
The 5:2 menu at Sam's costs £13.50 for two courses and £16.50 for three. It's available at lunch 12-3pm, Monday to Friday and as a dinner menu from 6.30pm - 7.30pm. But you can also order any dish as part of the à la carte all evening.
