Mary Macleod wants residents' support in campaign for Piccadilly line stop
Local MP Mary Macleod is asking local residents to help her in the campaign for the Piccadilly line to stop at Turnham Green tube station throughout the day.
She is setting up a Turnham Green Action Team to and is asking for local residents to come forward and help work with her in the weeks ahead. Transport for London (TfL) have confirmed they will carry out a public consultation on stopping the Piccadilly line at Turnham Green. The process is expected to start in the next few weeks and continue until the beginning of October.

Mary said: “It is crucial that as many Chiswick residents as possible let the Mayor and TfL know what they think - the more people that respond the better! It is clear that thousands of residents support the Piccadilly line stopping at Turnham Green. Local residents deserve the best transport links and I am determined to make that a reality.”
The stop between Hammersmith and Acton Town is 4.4km – the longest distance between stops on the entire Piccadilly line and more than three times longer than the average distance of 1.42km between stops. Residents have been campaigning for over thirty years for a stop but there has recently been increased optimism about a successful outcome due to the possibility of new signalling being configured to allow for a service at the station.
Mary continued: “Please do get in touch if you would like to be part of the Turnham Green Action Team and we will work together to make sure the views of local residents are heard. If we can get the Piccadilly line stopping at Turnham Green throughout the day, it will make a big difference to the lives of the local community, by improving connectivity, providing a great level of service and regenerating our local high streets.”
