Paul Vick's painting was auctioned in national exhibition
Local architect Paul Vick has taken part in a charity auction alongside top names Zaha Hadid and Richard Rogers, which raised over £90,000 for charity. The 10x10 Drawing Exhibition was in aid of the Article 25 Charity.
The 25th article of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights asserts that adequate shelter and housing are fundamental to our human rights. Article 25, the UK organisation, works to enable this right by building solutions to global problems.
The 10×10 project divides an area of London into a 10 x 10 grid, with the resulting squares being allocated to 100 prominent architects, designers and artists. They came together in the summer to create 100 pieces of work, giving 100 perspectives of the East end of London. The exhibition was held at the new Granary Building at Kings Cross.
Paul Vick's painting
This year’s 10×10 attracted some of the world’s most renowned artists and architects and was titled ‘Where the Bow Bells Chime’, after the notion that to be a true East Londoner you must be born within earshot of the Bow Bells in St-Mary-le-Bow church
The Chiswick-based architect was involved in the plans for a Sightline theatre, one of the proposals for the St Albans Church Community Association and last year was nominated for two major prizes for his work.
