Two Chiswick-based dance organisations—Ballet4Life and its sister charity Move into Wellbeing®—are celebrating a fresh wave of recognition after being nominated for a prestigious One Dance UK People’s Choice Award.

Founded and directed by Chiswick resident Donna Schoenherr, their nomination reflects years of dedicated community work, inclusive programming, and a commitment to making dance accessible to all.

“This is a great honour and we are all overjoyed to have been nominated,” said Donna. “This nomination helps to validate our work, and to give us greater exposure and support.”

Established in 2004, Ballet4Life offers a wide range of adult dance classes—from absolute beginners to advanced levels—across ballet, contemporary, and creative movement. Classes are held in well-equipped studios in Chiswick and also available online, making them accessible to a broad audience. The organisation is known for its welcoming ethos and its support for local schools, charities, and community groups.

Launched in 2015 and granted charity status in 2017, Move into Wellbeing® provides over ten weekly seated dance and movement classes for people living with mobility, health, and age-related challenges. The sessions are designed to be inclusive, uplifting, and socially engaging, with many offering a social element such as tea and conversation after class. The charity also runs online sessions and maintains a 24/7 video library for members.

The nomination marks a return to the national spotlight for both organisations, which have previously been shortlisted for their innovative and compassionate approach to community dance.

Supporters are encouraged to vote for Donna Schoenherr and her teams by visiting the One Dance UK Awards page, clicking “Submit your vote,” and selecting Donna’s name from the list. Voters may be prompted to sign in via SurveyMonkey, but registration is optional.

Winners will be announced at the One Dance UK Awards Ceremony in February, where the shortlisted nominees will gather to celebrate excellence across the UK dance sector.
