Flower Market Inviting Applications for Grants Programme
£30,000 available to fund local green community projects

Chiswick Flower Market has opened applications for its 2026 Community Grants Programme, offering £30,000 in funding to support green, sustainable and community-focused projects across W4.
Local charities, community groups, schools, non-profit organisations and small independent businesses can apply for grants of up to £3,000 to help deliver initiatives that benefit the area, promote the High Road or support environmental sustainability, biodiversity and urban greening.
The scheme, now in its second year, has already demonstrated its value to the community. Last year, the market awarded £12,500 to a range of projects, from school gardens and youth programmes to biodiversity improvements and community horticulture.
Beneficiaries included Cavendish Primary School, which used its grant to enhance its garden and create a sensory space; the Hogarth Estate Junior Youth Group, which received support for art materials and room hire; and St Paul’s Church, which improved its community garden to create a richer habitat for local wildlife.
Other funded projects included W4 Youth’s expanded programme of physical activity and arts sessions, Wild Chiswick’s work to increase biodiversity through wildflower planting and school garden improvements, and the Chiswick Horticultural and Allotments Society’s upgrades to greenhouses and equipment used for community plant sales.
Organisers say they hope to build on that success this year. Kathleen Mitra, Director of Chiswick Flower Market, said the team is delighted to have supported such a wide variety of local initiatives and is keen to receive more applications. She encouraged anyone unsure about eligibility to get in touch, noting that the team is happy to answer questions before an application is submitted.
The grants programme reflects the ethos of Chiswick Flower Market itself. Run entirely by volunteers as a Community Interest Company, the market reinvests all profits back into the local area. Held on the first Sunday of every month in the Old Market Place on Chiswick High Road, it has become a major draw for visitors from across London, championing British growers, independent businesses and environmentally conscious practices. The grants scheme extends that mission by helping local organisations bring forward projects that make Chiswick greener, more vibrant and more connected.
Applications will remain open until the £30,000 fund is allocated, and organisers are encouraging early submissions.
