Achievements of two local people recognised

Two Chiswick residents have been given honours in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.

Jane Denton the Director of the Multiple Births Foundation was given a CBE for services to health care. Last year she was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Nursing in 2006 for her outstanding contribution to fertility nursing and genetics.

She contributed to the development of the UK’s first IVF programme and was a founder member of the RCN Fertility Nurse Group that lobbied for the development of the current Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) Act.

In her current role at the Multiple Births Foundation, she has contributed to significant change in public and professional perception and attitudes towards multiple births.

John Ayling has been given a OBE for services to sport. He is a trustee of the Lord's Taveners Charity as well as having been the ex-Chairman.He was on the England & Wales Cricket Board Marketing Advisory Committee. He is also a Trustee of Trekforce - an eco - conservation charity targeting students..

He is Managing Director of John Ayling & Associates, a media-buying company which he founded in 1978.
