Netball Tournament Win for Belmont Primary School
Girls take title after losing just one game at festival
The nine girls who triumphed in the tournament held in Heston

Earlier this month nine girls from from Belmont Primary School, attended a netball festival at Springwell School in Heston.
In the first round, the team had some tough opponents but advanced into the final rounds undefeated. In the final matches, the team went on to win two out of three games, and maintained their impressive goal difference, meaning they came away as winners of the tournament.
Kristy Kierzkowski, School Business Manager, said, “The girls showed tremendous team spirit and were complimented on their knowledge of the rules, skill and determination! A massive well done and congratulations to all the children involved.”
In September boys from Years 5 and 6 won the Hounslow Borough football title at a competition that was held at the same venue.
Many of the before and after school clubs at Belmont focus on competitive sport with children training in netball, tag rugby, tennis, cross-country running and athletics as well as football. The school competes against other local primary schools and teams frequently progress beyond the local heats to the borough finals or London Youth Games.
The school works in partnership with Sport Impact, and through this is a member of the Youth Sport Trust. It has been awarded the School Games Kitemark (launched in 2012) in recognition of it provision for Sport and PE.
Sport Impact provides the school with expertise in this area, including coaches to deliver extra-curricular activities. It also trains older children to act as Young Sports Leaders, encouraging other children into active play at lunchtime.
