Transport for London (TfL) has now confirmed that it is to postpone roadworks relating to the Cromwell Road Rail Bridge project until next year.
The decision was taken due to the extremely cold weather that made work to complete the project impractical.
Originally the M4 was due to be closed eastbound from Junction 2 to Hogarth Roundabout on the A4 between 11.30pm on Friday 16 December to 5am on Monday 19 December which would have led to significant traffic disruption in the area.
The same closure that was due to take place the previous weekend (Friday 9 December – Monday 12 December) was cancelled at the last minute due to the weather.
This means that TfL will not be able to complete the project before Christmas as originally hoped and will now use reserve weekends in January.
Full eastbound closures between M4 junction 2 and Hogarth Roundabout will now take place, subject to weather conditions, from 10:30pm on Friday to 5am on Monday on the following dates:
• Friday 6 January to Monday 9 January
• Friday 13 January to Monday 16 January
Signed diversion routes will be in place for local traffic.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do.
