Archive being collected ahead of theatre's 40th anniversary next year
The Tabard Theatre marks 40 years in 2025
October 18, 2024
A local historian working on a project with the Tabard Theatre is making a request for old programmes from past productions at the venue.
As part of his broader research into the theatre’s history, Wesley Henderson-Roe he has begun to put together an archive of original or facsimile programmes. He is working with the theatre's owners, Simon and Sarah to create a historical archive from the theatre's humble beginnings in 1985.
There are some missing from the archive which he is keen to track down before the Tabard Theatre celebrates its 40th anniversary next year.
If you have any unwanted programmes they would be gratefully received at the theatre or by post to Simon Reilly The Tabard Theatre 2 Bath Road Chiswick W4 1LW or to Wesley Henderson Roe 4a Park Avenue Hounslow TW3 2LZ.
Mr Henderson-Roe is also writing a brief history of the pub and its theatrical links for an article to be published in the Brentford & Chiswick Local History Journal to coincide with the anniversary.
He previously made a call-out for information about the prominent figures from the world of the performing arts who have visited.
If enough material can be gathered, he is considering expanding the article into an illustrated booklet on the pub and the theatre.
If you can help Mr Henderson-Roe with his research he can be reached by email on wesnclare@aol.com or by phoning 07958 231035.
