Over 1,000 Chiswick residents have so far signed up the Met Engage system to received information from the police on crime.

The local police team says that two Chiswick wards have the highest level of take up in the borough of Hounslow with the other in fourth place. This comes after take up was initially quite slow with the police requesting an appeal for sign ups on ChiswickW4.com.

Met Engage, launched by the Metropolitan Police in June 2025, is a free messaging service designed to keep Londoners informed about crime updates, safety advice, and local policing news. The platform has been steadily growing across the capital, with boroughs encouraged to promote sign-ups through local media, community networks, and ward panels.

While exact borough-by-borough figures are not published, early reports suggest thousands of Londoners have already registered, with strong uptake in areas where Safer Neighbourhood Teams have actively promoted the service.

Across London, Met Engage is being rolled out borough by borough, with the Mayor of London highlighting it as a key tool for building trust between communities and the police. Boroughs such as Richmond and Ealing have also reported strong early uptake, but Chiswick’s figures are notable for their concentration in just three wards.

Local officers are encouraging residents to continue inviting friends, family, and neighbours to sign up. With ward panels now focusing on resident-led priorities, the platform is expected to play a growing role in shaping how policing resources are deployed in Chiswick and beyond.
