Marco Pierre White Jr, the son of celebrity chef Marco Pierre White, has been sentenced to three years and ten months in prison following a series of burglaries and thefts.
The 30-year-old former Chiswick-resident returned to the High Road to steal nearly £500 worth of Jellycat soft toys from the local Waterstones on 18 June this year, entering the store just as it was closing and then making his getaway on a Lime bike.
This was part of a wider pattern of using hired bicycles to travel between late-night raids on small, high-value retailers, a spree that included breaking into shops in Kensington, Notting Hill, Barnes, and Pimlico. In total, White caused more than £60,000 in losses and damage, including £44,000 worth of destruction at a crystal gallery in Chelsea. He was eventually apprehended after a break-in at a gift shop in Barnes, where an Uber driver alerted police. Officers found White nearby with stolen goods and linked him to multiple scenes through DNA evidence left behind when he injured himself during forced entries.
Like many shoplifters, he often targeted Jellycats, particularly limited editions and larger models, as they can fetch significant resale prices online.
Isleworth Crown Court heard that White has a long-standing drug addiction and was already serving two suspended sentences when the offences occurred. Judge Edward Connell described him as “a prolific offender” with 30 previous convictions for 69 offences, many involving dishonesty. “All of the offences are aggravated by the defendant’s appalling record,” the judge said.
White’s criminal history includes a 2016 fraud case while living in Chiswick, when he was accused of using an ex-girlfriend’s debit card without permission. He was granted bail on the condition that he observe a nightly curfew at his Chiswick address. That same year, he appeared on *Celebrity Big Brother, where his behaviour drew hundreds of complaints and led to his early eviction.
Despite brief periods of rehabilitation—including time spent on his father’s farm in Wiltshire where he moved in 2017—White has repeatedly returned to offending. His latest sentence follows a series of convictions between 2016 and 2024, including theft, drug possession, and public order offences.
