The former head producter of the Chiswick Playhouse theatre has been jailed after his original two-year suspended sentence was ruled to be insufficient.
36-year-old Wayne Glover-Stuart had been found guilty of four counts of sexual assault against two victims on Wednesday 16 April at the Inner Crown Court in London.
However subsequently, the Solicitor General Lucy Rigby KC MP intervened and the case referred to the Court of Appeal under the Unduly Lenient Sentence scheme. This Tuesday (1 July) he was given a three-year jail term.
The court heard that Glover-Stuart invited two men on separate occasions to an underwear modelling photoshoot where he assaulted them.
Lucy Rigby said, “Glover-Stuart’s crimes were appalling. He lured his victims into a vulnerable position abusing their trust before sexually assaulted them for his own gratification.
“I welcome the Court of Appeal’s decision to increase this offender’s sentence following my intervention.”
Glover-Stuart had been appointed producer at the Chiswick Playhouse, which was a short lived rebrand of the Tabard Theatre, in 2020 leaving two years later. None of the offences for which he has been convicted occurred at the time he was working at the theatre.
The venue above the Tabard Pub has since been taken over by new management as Theatre at the Tabard.
