A 22-year-old drug dealer from Chiswick has been jailed for seven and a half years after violently attacking and permanently injuring a man he had taken prisoner.
Wayne Palmer of Weston Road, along with an accomplice, subjected his victim, who is in his thirties, to an assault lasting four hours over claims that he owed him money for drugs.
He approached the man in Priory Road in High Wycombe at around 10pm on 13 December 2023 and demanded cash from him. When this was refused, the victim was taken to a house on the same road and left with life changing injuries after a sustained assault.
Following a Thames Valley Police investigation Palmer was arrested on 2 January 2024 and charged the following day. He was sentenced for multiple offences, including assault, false imprisonment, and supplying class A drugs receiving seven years and six months in prison at Aylesbury Crown Court on Wednesday 19 March.
Palmer pleaded guilty to one count each of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent, attempted robbery and false imprisonment, and two counts of being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs of class A, namely crack cocaine and heroin, at the same court on 21 February.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Emily Sendall said, “I hope that the sentence handed down in this case shows that Thames Valley Police will not tolerate such senseless violence and drug dealing.
“I would like to thank the victim for his bravery in coming forward and his continued support of the investigation.”
