A man has died after falling from a building in the Chiswick Park office development on Tuesday (22 August).

The man who is believed to have been in his thirties was treated by paramedics but died at the scene shortly afterwards.

Police say they were called to reports of a man having fallen from a height at around 11.13am by London Ambulance Service. It is believed that the incident took place at Building 7. This block is the home to a number of companies including the UK headquarters of French food producer Danone.

An air ambulance landed on Turnham Green and Chiswick High Road was closed between Silver Crescent and Burlington Road. Access to the Chiswick Park development was restricted during the incident.

When asked why the helicopter did not land in the Chiswick Park development, a spokesperson for London Air Ambulance said, "We have landed in the business park previously, but obviously on this occasion we couldn't – this could have been for a number of reasons, for example if the pilots felt there may be a risk to people standing nearby, or if there was risk of objects moving from the downdraft caused by the rotor blades.  Our pilots will make a dynamic risk assessment of any potential landing site from the air.   The pilots will always select the safest and closest sites possible, which on this occasion was Turnham Green."

"The aircraft can land in a space about the size of a tennis court, and is fitted with sirens and landing lights to attract attention."

Eye-witnesses reported armed officers on Turnham Green at the time but their presence there is not believed to be significant.

At this stage, the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

Enjoy Work Chiswick Park, who manage the development, have declined to comment.
