Bees freeze again in North West
Brentford's recent fluent football came to a stuttering halt in a 2-0 defeat at Morecambe.
Brentford started the game with an unchanged team of Hamer, Halls, Bennett, Phillips, Dickson, Newton, Bean, O'Connor, Wood, Wright and Macdonald.
The goals came in the 23rd and 89th minute in what has to go down as a dissapointing result given our excellent form against Aldershot and Shrewsbury. Our players will have to dust themselves down in time for Saturday's home game with Chester.
Brentford started the match brightly but were matched by hardworking and physical opposition with the goals coming from defensive lapses (the second as brentford pushed for a point). To be fair to Brentford they worked hard during the match but didn't take their chances or show a difference in class.
Including the Barrow cup exit, this was Brentford's fifth defeat in the north west this season - and we still have games against Accrington and Rochdale to go....
Brentford remain second in the table on 49 points, but their game in hand on leaders Wycombe has gone. Bury too are on 49 points (one game more played, worse goal difference) with Rochdale on 48. Darlington are on 47 points and have a game in hand and a superior goal difference.
