Bees move into second after a fairly easy Boxing Day win
A bumper Boxing Day crowd of 6,450 - a good 1,000 more than our previous best crowd this season, saw a comfortable 2-0 win over a recently in-form Bournemouth side.
Both Bees goals were scored in the first half by Marcus Bean. The first a header from a cross by Sam Wood and the second from a corner by Kevin O'Connor.
In the first half Brentford looked tidy at the back with Kev and Marcus Bean controlling the middle of the park and Wood and Dickson playing well down the left. The second half was less exciting with some keep ball in the last five minutes drawing a few boos from the home crowd. Returning striker Alan Connell was clapped off by the Bees fans when substituted but to be fair that was probably because he was quite poor as were Bournemouth on the whole.
Beesotted's Man of the Match was Ryan Dickson and it was good to see a bumper crowd come out with a lot of brand new Christmas jumpers on show! The Bees currently lie in second place but this could change by 5pm.
Hooray, hooray, it's a holi-holiday!
Hamer; Osborne, Phillips, Bennett, Dickson; Williams (sub Scannell 80 mins), O'Connor, Bean, Wood; MacDonald, Bowditch
