New Bookshop Planned for the Brentford Project
Hewson Books already have stores in Kew and East Sheen

A new book shop is set to open later this year in the Brentford Project.
Hewson Books, which is run by Adam and Wendy Hewson, already has branches in Kew and East Sheen.
Adam Hewson has worked as a bookseller since the 1980s, first in independent bookselling, then in Waterstones, Books etc. & Borders. He joined the RHS shops at Wisley after Borders, before purchasing The Kew Bookshop and The Sheen Book Shop in December 2016.
The new shop in Brentford will be the largest of the three shops at 1500 sq. ft. and will aim to provide carefully selected stock, with knowledgeable staff and a welcoming community area.
Mr Hewson says, “The extra space in the Brentford shop will allow us to have much stronger ranges of books than the existing shops, with a deeper selection of fiction and children’s books. We’ll cater our non-fiction to the community as we learn what our customers want and expect. We will have a small but well chosen stationery department and for the first time, Hewson Books will have a board games section, featuring the new trend for interesting games. “
He added that Ballymore was particularly keen to include an independent bookshop in its development which will also contain pubs, restaurants, cafes and an Everyman cinema.

The Brentford Project is a major redevelopment scheme on the southside of the area covering 12 acres of land which aims to reconnect the High Street to the waterfront. Two redeveloped docks will create new outdoor space and 876 new flats are being built.
The new shop is due to open late November 2023.
