South Thames College launches reward for exceptional participation
South Thames College has launched a new initiative to reward exceptional attendance from its students.
Pupils who achieve 100 per cent attendance during each term are put into a draw with the chance of winning £100. The education centre has now handed out its initial batch of £100 rewards and reports a number of happy faces (see above) from its first winners as they received their giant cheques.
The initiative will continue throughout the Spring term, while rewards for using the English and Maths Hub as well as English and Maths attendance are due to be rolled out before Easter too.
Over 21,000 students are enrolled at South Thames College, based in Wandsworth High Street, and government funded courses like BTEC Nationals and A-levels are free for 16-19 year olds.
In 2009 the College merged with Merton College, and also now offers vocational courses including carpentry, brickwork, plumbing, and hygiene.
