The Bush's Ten Goal Blast Beats Brotherhood FC

Local team United's winning streak continues

It's been a great season so far for local team Shepherd's Bush United, who have reached the last 16 of the Middlesex Cup and the quarter final of the League Challenge Cup v Maro FC.

Here are reports of their last two matches.

Brotherhood FC 0 - Shepherd's Bush United 10

More goals for Moore!

Shepherds Bush United ripped Brotherhood FC to pieces with a ten goal blast.

Brotherhood failed to hit the target in the 90 minutes mustering a handful of hopeful efforts high and wide as "The Bush" were scoring with ease.

George Moore added to his four of the season so far with a thundering seven goals and he was joined on the score sheet by Callum Donald, Michael Matier and Samuel Light.

Shepherd's Bush United FC 2 - 1 Lord Hill FC

Shepherd’s Bush United eased into the last 16 of the Middlesex Cup on Sunday October 27, but made heavy weather of a willing but limited Lord Hill FC before overcoming them 2-1.

On a blustery morning at Southfields, the visitors got off to the worst possible start when an underhit backpass seconds after the kick-off was seized upon by United’s George Moore, who got off a shot from a narrowing angle; the goalkeeper parried his effort into the path of the onrushing Nick Sherrell who calmly slotted from six yards.

This setback rocked Lord Hill, and they could have conceded again as the hosts drew a couple of sharp saves from the keeper, before a looping Shepherd’s Bush free kick, taken by Scott Brown, bounced off the bar and away to safety.

It was a surprise, then, when Lord Hill exploited a rare corner on the half-hour and fired in after a brief goalmouth melee.

Shepherd’s Bush adapted better to the high winds in the second half and kept the ball on the floor, exploiting the space behind the opposition full backs with some neat interchanges.

Mounting pressure saw two goals for the home side disallowed, as their superior passing and mobility began to tell. Nevertheless it was late in the game before a hard-won corner was lofted back into the box after an initial clearance, for Michael Matier to convert from close in. Lord Hill were reduced to optimistic balls over the top as the hosts saw out the game.
