A chance to see the plans and have your say
The Council say they are about to launch a six-week consultation on the future of Shepherd's Bush Market.
Local residents, traders and businesses are being asked for their views on preliminary plans which envisage an expanded market with a new layout, plus the creation of new shops and restaurants. The market would be extended eastwards to take in the former laundry in Pennard Road and a new entrance would be created in Goldhawk Road.
"Shepherd's Bush Market has been the heart of the area for nearly 100 years. The market currently sits on a very cramped site which stops major improvements. Now we have a great opportunity to secure the future of the market and to breathe new economic life into the whole area," said H&F cabinet member, Mark Loveday.
The market area is owned by Transport for London, but other landowners include the Peabody Trust housing association and the homeless charity, Broadway Centre.
"We very much welcome being involved at this stage in these plans which are about regenerating Shepherd's Bush. If the plans prove popular, we will be working with the council to ensure that the Broadway Centre continues to provide services," said the Broadway Centre's chief executive, Howard Sinclair.

Wednesday, December 16, 4.30pm-8pm
Further consultation events will also be held in January.
