Pub's first pork pie contest raises hundreds for Action Against Hunger

The Princess Victoria pub in Uxbridge Road has thanked everyone who came out to support its first Pork Pie Off.

The pub says it was a tremendous success, raising over £500 for Action Against Hunger, whilst everyone had plenty of fun eating far too much pie!

The Princess Victoria has a special mention for all the sporting chefs, including winner Tom Langdon who is chef at The Garrison pub in Bermondsey Street in South East London - seen here posing with his winnings alongside judges Joe warwick, Tom Parker Bowles and Christine Hayes.

The pub also says thank you to Portabello Beer for keeping the drinks flowing and adds: Here's to 2015!

Meanwhile one of the evening's guests, Lulu Grimes, deputy editor of foodies magazine Olive shares the winning recipe on her blog but warns it's not for the faint-hearted as it involves quantities of lard, duck fat and simmering pig's trotters. Those with strong stomachs can find the recipe here
