Marion Brydson brings a seasonal report from Wormwood Scrubs

31 Runners out today on this lovely sunny morning along with Lola and Suzy, the scrubs four legged runners. The ground was harder with fewer swampy bits to negotiate and it felt a little less arduous?

Many congratulations to Damian SPRECKLEY first runner home in 18.53 and with the best age grade. Robert VALLANCE came in second place 19.14 and Kit MCCRYSTAL in third in a time of 20.45.

Well done to Matilda Charlotte FERRAND our first female runner home in 23.12.

Congratulations to Jack BARKLE, Kathryn DOBSON, Dimitrios MOUTZOURIS and Stephen MCDOWALL all achieving personal bests this morning.

Kate O'DONOGHUE finally received her winners cup and trophy.

A little tail of the day, Suzy one of our four legged friends struggles to make the full distance anymore so Rob very kindly took care of her after her first lap however Suzy got a new spring in her step and had poor Rob chasing after her through the muddy swamps much to the amusement of all the finishers.

Thank you to all the volunteers today, Martin, Riz, Ben and Kirstie, Kirstie we hope you are feeling better next week and are able to run.
If double points were available they would be awarded to Rob, thank you.

Wormwood Scrubs Parkrun is a weekly 5km timed run, taking place every Saturday at 9am.

The run is free to enter and the organisers say ayone is welcome to come along and join in whatever your pace and abilities, whether running, jogging or walking.
