New tenant may have been found
The old Shepherd's Bush Library in Uxbridge Road may have found a new tenant.
The Bush Theatre is planning to use the building to stage a performance this autumn, in what could turn out to be a longer-term arrangement, including the creation of a script reference library.
The play 'Sea Wall', which was part of the Bush Theatre's Broken Space season earlier this year, is due to be performed in the old library in October.
“Following the opening of a brand new library at the Westfield shopping centre, the old library has become the Bush Theatre's new script reference library - The Bush at The Library,” a statement from the Theatre says.
“The Bush at The Library will be housed at 7 Uxbridge Road, Shepherds Bush, W12 8LJ which will open from 5 October 2009. Sea Wall is being presented as part of the launch of the new Bush script reference library,” the statement says.
It is not yet clear whether this will be a permanent arrangement or not, but the script library does not yet exist and the Bush Theatre would be creating it from scratch.
A Council spokesperson said: “The council is currently discussing the potential for the Bush Theatre to use part of the building and will announce firm details in the near future.”
'Sea Wall' will be performed in the old library from 5-17 October.
