Items can be brought to two collection days this weekend
A refugee crisis donation point is being set up in a local Church.
St Saviour's, Wendell Park, Cobbold Road, W12 9LN are collecting items for the Calais Refugee camps on Friday 18 September from 9am-6pm and Saturday 19 September 10am-6pm.
They will take them to the CalAid collection event in East London on the 20 September, where they will be sorted and taken to Calais. (www.calaid.co.uk).
What is BADLY needed:
SHOES : Trainers or hiking shoes (only the most common sizes 41 to 43)
TENTS (Even incomplete) , COVERS, TARPAULIN
JACKETS : Only small and medium sized ones
TRAVELLING BAGS
SOCKS
CANDLES or any other lighting implement
BELTS
What is ALWAYS needed:
Tracksuit trousers (highly appreciated)
Jeans (Size 28 to 32)
Blankets
Sleeping bags
Soap
Shampoo
Toothbrushes
Toothpaste
Plastic bags
Woolly hats
Pants
Pots
Pans
What is NOT needed right now:
WOMENS AND CHILDRENS CLOTHES OR SHOES, Sheets, Pillows, Suits, Town shoes, Jumpers, Wellingtons. Nappies, Feminine hygiene products.
