Playgrounds Set For Revamp

Your Views Needed on New Play Equipment

The Council are inviting the borough's younger residents to tell them what sort of play equipment they would like to see in their local parks.

H&F Council has earmarked over £1m to spend on natural and adventurous play equipment and is now keen to find out exactly what children and young people would like.

Sessions will be held on every day of the half term holidays (from 12pm to 3pm) and all youngsters, particularly those aged between 8 and 13 are invited to attend.

Local events will take place on:
Monday October 26 – Cathnor Park
Wednesday October 28 – Old Oak Common
Thursday October 29 – Hammersmith Park

The Council say their plans for each new play area will embrace natural features such as grassy mounds, fallen trees, sand and climbing boulders to give children more natural opportunities to play freely and creatively.

Ideas up for consideration include hills to climb up and roll down, interesting pathways to follow and fallen trees to balance on.

Each consultation event will feature plenty of fun and games for children, including den making, model making, sports activities and bulb planting.
