Children taught emergency life skills at Hammersmith Hospital

Shepherd's Bush were some of the first to attend the Injury Minimisation Programme for Schools (IMPS) at the hospital's Children’s Ambulatory Unit.

The programme, which was previously only run at St Mary’s and Chelsea and Westminster hospitals, teaches children about risk and safety, and introduces them to emergency life skills, including CPR. 

Assistant head teacher of the school in Bryony Road, Katie Brown, says: " The day was informative and totally engaging for the children. They didn't stop talking about what they did and learned and asked so many questions once we returned to school.

" It was an invaluable session that will stay with them for a long time to come."

The IMPS has to date been funded by Chelsea and Westminster Healthcare Charity in partnership with local primary care partners and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
